What Students Can Expect
- Experience an intentional and relational discipleship investment.
- Unpack foundational doctrines of Christianity including God’s character, our identity in Christ, walking in the Spirit, and applying the gospel.
- Discover and practice spiritual disciplines, such as inductive Bible study, sabbath, worship, fasting, prayer, and more.
- Live in Biblical community - learning to encourage, exhort, honor, and serve one another.
- Discover your gifts, talents, strengths and God-given personality traits, and process how you might be used for the Kingdom.
- Learn ‘adulting’ skills - budgeting, cooking, planning, conflict resolution, leadership development and engaging biblically with culture.
- Engage with ministry partners to experience cross-cultural and local ministry opportunities, serving the military, marginalized, and poor communities.
- Gain practical experience and tools for ministry such as teaching Bible or English; leading crafts, games, and worship; and sharing testimonies and the gospel.
- After graduation we will work with you to find ministry internships. Staff is also available for ongoing coaching and investment, for life.
Serve while you learn
At our home base in Columbia, South Carolina, you will have opportunities to work in local ministries like Oliver Gospel, Daybreak, Providence Home and Toby's Place. We will partner with a local church and even help serve the military. You will practice evangelism, teaching, and discipleship, culminating in an overseas cross-cultural missions trip.
Gospel Transformation
Students will go through Gospel Transformation, a comprehensive course on the Christian life that centers on the transformation of Christians by the power of the gospel.
This course is designed to promote ongoing renewal in life, relationships, and ministry. The Gospel Transformation is one of several training tools that will encourage students as well as equip them to make disciples.
Tuition
LifeCompass Gap Year runs from September to May. The cost is $10,000 which includes room, board, ministry trips along the East Coast and a two month international mission trip. Additional expenses include: spending money and transportation to and from Columbia, South Carolina.
